Billy is never ill, but for the past day or so he has had a gunky eye and a blocked nostril, up until today he has been eating normally and enjoying his walks but this morning he didn't want his breakfast, he has also been sneezing? Can dogs get a head cold is there anything I can do to make him more comfortable or should I take him the vets?
He is cuddled up on our bed at the moment with duvet over him  I have been cleaning his eye with tepid water and cold tea?? I am sure I read that somewhere??

they can get things stuck up their nose!! So a trip to the vet may be worth while to rule an infection out!

Oh, poor Billy :(
One of my cats used to get 'colds' - sounds odd but every now and again his nose would just go bright red, eyes started running and he used to do big snotty sneezes all the time. I used to have to take him to the vet for one of those magic 'cure all' injections
Hope Billy's feeling much better soon.

Well after nearly 2 weeks of antibiotics Billy's eye still hadn't cleared so he went back to the vets yesterday where the vet diagnosed "Dry eye" I know there is a longer name for this but can't remember it  apparently his eye is no longer producing enough fluid to keep his eye clear so he will have to drops for the rest of his life :( poor little boy is already sick of the sight of the drop bottle.

Awww poor Billy! I'm sure he'll get used to the drops eventually but I don't blame him - I hate putting drops in my eye
