Title: Like a nervous wreck. (Update showing spaying site).
Post by: Lily Freya on November 19, 2012, 01:32:20 PM
Took little Gracie to have her laparoscopic spay today.

After examining her, the vet found she had residual puppy teeth preventing the new ones coming through...so poor baby is having them taken out too.

Can't wait to ring at three, and to go to get her.

I'm like a gibbering wreck.  :luv:

Whoops...cat out of the bag! Or perhaps cocker out of the rucksack is more appropriate  :005:

Sorry to say this Jen, but Roger holds you responsible.  He says if you had been more vigilant we would have had no wee problems.  :005: :005:  You did get better as the weekend progressed though hey? Xx

Just telephoned.........and we can't go for her.

Poor little thing has hung around all day in a retainer cage.  The vet had an emergency, and had to postpone routine surgery.  :'( :'(.

They said she is in surgery now......so will just have to wait for a call, at whatever hour they think she's ok.

She's home finally...after a long day.

All is well.  She has eaten chicken, and is now flat out.... :005:

Se had to have a couple of teeth out too, as the vet noticed that her puppy teeth had stayed in place where new ones has pushed through...sending things out of alignment.  I was thrilled with his attention to detail, and especially as this is not our vet practise.

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts everyone.

Night night.....xx

No sleep at all, after the initial nap.  She didn't seems to be in pain, but just a bit hyper.

I stayed with her.......so no chance of uni today.  :005: :005:   What an excuse hey?  'Sorry my dog kept me awake all night.'

The wound site is good, and no problems with eating in spite of two teeth being extracted.  That's my girl.  :005:

Thank you all so much for thinking of us.  Your kind thoughts and messages helped one old worry wart for sure. Xxxxx

No Lynn....you aren't wrong.  They booked us for initial appointment, then said if all is well the surgery would follow at a later date.  We then got a phone call to say that the vet would do everything the same day.  All done now, and she seems to be good so far. Xxx

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.  COL thoughts work wonders. X

This is all she has to show for it.  Wonderful hey?  Anyone thinking of it....it seems to be worth travelling to another vet for.  Although, I appreciate that traditional spaying is just as quick with recovery too. X

Just hoping her fur grows quickly.....not a pretty sight at the moment... :005:
