Positive thoughts for Poppy - swollen lymph nodes
« on: March 18, 2013, 12:46:46 PM »
Please can I ask for some positive healthy thoughts for Poppy?

When I picked Poppy up from her groomer on Saturday afternoon, she mentioned some lumps in Poppy’s groin and said I should get them checked out by my vet.
I wasn’t particularly worried about them and thought I would wait for our next visit due in about 6 weeks.

However, last night Poppy rubbed her face on the coir mat and got a small piece embedded in her eye, so I took her for an emergency appointment, and whilst she was under anaesthetic, I mentioned the lumps.

The vet found that all her lymph nodes are swollen and took biopsies of two of them.
We are now waiting for the results on Wednesday or Thursday.

Poppy’s eye is making a rapid recovery, and it seems fate made sure we saw the vet as soon as possible, for which I am grateful.
She is just 3 and showing no symptoms of illness.

I am trying not to think the worst, but have not found any good reasons for lymph nodes being swollen, so please can I ask COL to work its magic for Poppy.

Never have I wanted something to be nothing quite so much :'(

Sorry to hear that Poppy is undergoing tests....keeping everything crossed that it is nothing serious.

Fate obviously stepped in and ensured she saw a vet quickly x

Aw, hope she is ok and it is nothing to worry about after all. What a worry our dogs can be, eh? Hope her eye is ok too, now the foreign body has been removed.
To know them is to love them.....

Sending you lots of positive thoughts :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:

Swollen lymph nodes are most commonly a sign that the body is fighting off an infection, so even if Poppy hasn't had anything obviously wrong with her it could still be as simple as an infection. Fingers crossed for good results :-*
