Need some positive thoughts please
« on: January 18, 2014, 11:33:02 AM »
Hattie is in the vets at the moment. It started yesterday 15 mins after feeding her she started to gag and lick the carpet, took her outside were she ate grass and brought that back up, but she was frantically licking the rug and anything else she could. We took her to the vet who thought she had irritated her throat they gave her a steroid and antibiotic injection.  We brought her home but she seemed to get worse and her stomach swelled so we took her back to the emergency vet who did a X-ray of her belly but nothing found, she gave her 2 more injections.

Last night I slept with her and she had a really bad night crying, drooling and gulping, so we have taken her back this morning and she is going to be sedated while they do a X-ray of her neck and have a look inside and she will also be put on a drip.  She won't be allowed home until tomorrow.

It so awful walking away leaving them behind but I know she is in the best place but I just wished I could stay with her.

Waiting now for the vet to phone and let me know if anything was found.

Hattie is in the best of hands.  Hope the x-ray will pinpoint the problem so it can be sorted quickly and she can get back home to you.
With all the gagging, it sounds a bit like something is stuck........ but not sure abut the belly, unless it is bloat.
Keeping everything crossed for you and hattie  :luv:
