Many thanks for your kind wishes and positive thoughts. It doesn't seem like the antibiotics are working so an earlier trip to the vets looks to be on the cards. He is looking very sad with his buster collar on and is definatly missing his off lead walks as everywhere is too muddy, the lump is in a place that's impossible to keep clean and dry whilst out walking.
I would put him on some homeopathic silicea for a few days just in case it's a foreign body - it doesn't interfere with the antibiotics  ;)

Hope it resolves itself very quickly :luv:
Thanks for this tip, do you get it from health food shops? And how much should I give him? Will try and get some tomorrow.

Hi there - yes you can get it from the health food shop - 30c is more potent than 6c

You can put the pillules straight in their mouths - they should even dissolve on the gums (don't handle them) or you can crush them up with a metal spoon and put them in drinking water if he's a big drinker.  I think it's easier

I would dose a couple of pillules every 4 hours for the first day and then 3 times a day the following few days.

It's worth a try - I really hope it helps  :luv:

Well, fingers crossed the infection seems to be clearing at last. Lump still the same size and appears to bother him at times so will continue to give metacam. Somebody at our ringcraft looked at it this week and said it looks like a hystiocytoma (her flat coats have had them) which is good news but will obviously still have the biospy done. Poor boy is bouncing off the walls with his lack of off lead runs but it's just too muddy and wet to risk it.

Thank you for all your good wishes, it means a lot to us. Will update more when we've seen the vet again x

Back to the vets sooner than we thought as I can't stop him chewing it and reinfecting it >:D

Having it removed under general tomorrow and the lump sent for analyses, my poor baby isn't going to cope as he's so nervous, but they have been very good with him so I know they'll take good care of him.

If it's bothering him it's better they're taking it off and hopefully it'll be nothing serious when it's sent away.
He'll get the best of care while he's at the vets  :bigarmhug: Will be thinking of you and Rufus tomorrow  :luv:

Poor thing, it's the best though, if he will not leave it alone.  Fingers crossed that tomorrow will go smoothly and that the biopsy show what we want to see.  :luv:
