After finding a small lump on Matte's tail, the vet took a needle sample and has now relayed the results to me via email (my preference as very deaf) - cells taken appear benigh, no sign of bacteria or malignant cells, but because it was only a small sample, suggests 3 options (none of which I particularly like!). 1 - repeat same procedure, so another £140 with probably the same result; 2 - repeat the procedure under anaesthetic to get a larger sample (with possibly the same ambiguous result); 3 - trial treatment with anti-inflammatories/antibiotics (never keen on giving my dogs - or myself - medication unless necessary). I'm tempted to go for leave it and see right now; it doesn't trouble him in any way ..... would be grateful for any thoughts!
