Poor Roobs, just left her at vets
« on: April 05, 2006, 10:49:41 AM »
Noticed last night her eye was really sore even though I check them regularly this just didn't seem right. As night went on she became more unhappy and by morning was quite listless and wouldn't come out of crate for anything. Thankfully my vets always try to fit me in. Have just taken her down there and she's got a thorn in her cornea. She's been knocked out and Steve is going to try to remove it.

She did begin to wag her tail a bit (Kirsty from one of the local rescues I work with was in there as well) while we waited in wating room for sedation to take effect, mainly becuase Steve had put a local anaesthetic in her eye plus she'd had a painkiller so was feeling more comfortable.

Fingers crossed it all works out.

Thorn's out of roob's eye and she's back home but a little disoriented and keeps pacing round the house. Hopefully she'll settle soon.

Thorn was only tiny and thankfully Steve removed it all and so is hopeful that she'll recover well.

At last she's settled. Normally when they come home after the anaesthetic they just crash but Roobs has worn the floor out pacing up and down. Thankfully after half an hour of pacing she's asleep in the crate .

Poor Ruby; I'm glad it's been removed......it must have been so painful :'(

I remember Stella got a piece of holly leaf stuck in her eye; she was rubbing it frantically & her eye really swelled up.
However it soon healed once the leaf was removed & she didn't suffer any ill effects from it!
