Hi all firstly can we say thankyou for all your lovely thoughts special wishes and of course the important Cocker hugs.
Cookie has had her op, she came home around 5pm and has just slept since. The vet reopened her scar and revised it to get rid of the infected tissue. She gave Cookie an abdominal wash out to remove the infection inside, she resutured the muscle layer and closed the wound. There was no other complications in relation to damaged bladder etc so that is a relief. Cookie had developed a nasty infection and it was stopping her healing. She has been given a strong IV antibiotic and is on a 10 day oral course.
Today has been a very long day and one we hope not to have to repeat. All sorts of irrational thoughts have gone thru our heads from blame (we took Cookie for the original op) to wondering if it is something really bad.
As soon as i walked in from work she just looked at me and lifted one of her back legs as if to say "Lookat what theyve done again mummy"
