Very occasionally blue roans will have one or both eyes blue. While it is not common, there is nothing really wrong or abnormal about the puppy, and their vision is usually good. A friend of mine had a puppy with one blue eye and one brown

Afraid I don't know the genetics of it tho

When we visited Harvey at 5 weeks he had piercing blue eyes. I was gonna call him Frank! They're green now so I'm glad I stuck with Harvey!

'Sometimes' blue eyes are a sign of being deaf....I have heard of a cocker litter being born like this, where the majority of the litters eyes have turned brown, but a couple of them stayed blue - these were the deaf ones.

I've read it too. Also coupled with whiter dogs especially those with lots of white on head.
My first litters' eyes stayed blue for almost the 8 weeks but it looked more like a grey blue, then they changed to brown. All had great hearing and eyesight.

Could the pup have wall eyes, it's a term used in horses that have blue eyes where there is lack of pigment in the iris and gives a blue white appearance to the eyes   I've noticed some sheepdogs tend to have one or both eyes blue.

Hi
I have no idea about the genetics side of things but can confirm that blue eyes definitely don't mean that they are deaf, only selectively like all cockers!
Here are a couple of pictures of our little girl, when we first got her at 8 weeks you can see that she had really piercing blue eyes  :D

This is her taken on the 24th December, not quite 4 months old and her eyes are now just very dark blue  :'(

She's still totally gorgeous whatever colour her eyes, hope you have as much fun and joy from your pup as this little lady has brought to us.

I was assuming OP meant iris colour not pupil.
In the photo your dogs iris colour is brown.

I thought we were talking about the pupil too, not iris.

The blue eyes in the cases I was talking about definitely meant they were deaf, the pups were taken to a specialist and he confirmed it and linked it to the blue eyes.....he told them this was also the case in dalmations.

The blue you can see in those photos is not blue eyes as such, just light reflecting off the retina at the back of the eye. At certain angles and in certain lights, all dogs will have that.

Blue iris is another thing altogether. I don't think it is always associated with deafness. I think it is more likely to be if the fur is white also, but even then, not always.

I remember a COL member had a pup with one blue eye and one brown eye, but I think the blue one may have changed colour rather later than normal?????

Can we see a photo of OP's blue eyed babe?

i was offered a cocker pup with one blue eye, i didnt take him as i wasnt happy about where he came from, but anyway his iris was blue (like our eyes) i asked on here about it and someone said they had proper blue eyed cocker in the kennels where they worked, i googled blue eyed cocker and got a few pics, but im hopeless at loading them on to this site, but they are about, i think it seems to be roany type cockers but could be wrong, the pic of your pups eyes arent actually blue like the  piercing blue eyed husky eyes it seems like as someone said light reflecting off the pupils
