I'm so cross. My poor boy was there for 8 and a half hours today and hasn't had his scan. I had a phone call just after 4.30pm to say that they'd had some problems with the scanner so hadn't been able to do all the scans. They wanted to keep William overnight but I said I wanted him home. Luckily it's only about a 30 minute drive, so I've now got him home and he's just had his evening meal. He has to be back there at 8.30am tomorrow, so can't have any more food between now and then.
They said he'd been really good and quiet all day, but what they don't realise is that he is a good and very polite boy, who doesn't make much fuss vocally even when he's stressed. I think he probably copes better than many, but it can't have been pleasant for him, stuck in a cage and surrounded by strange people and stressed dogs.
Maybe I shouldn't be so cross. I know that technical faults happen and they probably tried very hard to get all the scans done, but I think they should have realised earlier than 4.30pm that they weren't going to finish them all. At least he hasn't been sedated, which is one of the things I was worried about.
Anyway, rant over. He's having a nap at my feet right now and I'll take him for a walk later (watching like a hawk to make sure he doesn't snack on any horse poo) and hopefully we'll both get a restful night before going through all the stress again tomorrow.
