Hi,
They still believe it was an acute bout of pancreatitis given her history + symptoms + bloods they tested on site. Specific bloods they sent off to external labs will be back end of week to confirm it. Poppy has a check up Friday evening, so will get results then.
They put her on antibiotics when she went in as standard practice. (apparently its quite common practice to give antibiotics when they have pancreatitis to prevent any secondary infection occuring, due to higher levels of bacteria in the gut.
)
She has responded well to them so they are continuing the course.
She was on Chappie since her last bout of pancreatitis but still had grumbly tummy every so often. ( Called chronic pancreatitis when every so often she would get an upset tummy but be fine the next day.) She never seemed full on it either. So she is now on Hills prescription ID diet. Gentler for her tummy and low fat so will hopefully agree with her better.
Costs a fortune!
xx
