Not had a season.
« on: December 09, 2009, 09:32:46 PM »
Hi All,

I was just looking for some advice if possible.  My little bitch is nearly three and she last had a season mid March 09 and has not come in since.  As it's ten months, I am getting a bit worried and wondered if this was normal.

Many thanks for your help.

How regular were her seasons prior to the last one? If they were coming every 6 months up to now I'd speak to your vet but if they've had longer gaps between them all along then that's probably normal for her.

Hi, her previous few seasons have been every 7-8 months. So not sure what think.  Perhaps I will give the vet practice a call.

Many thanks for help.

I wouldn't be worried yet, they can often be several weeks later than anticipated.  One of my girls is 2.5 yrs old, had her 1st season at 14+ mths, then her 2nd at 11 mths later.  My other girl had her 1st season at 11 mths, then subsequent seasons have been between 6 - 7.5 mths.  It is often at the point when you start worrying that they start.  ;)
