Got home tonight to find Nigel trying to stem a persistant copious flow of blood from Toby's mouth. Couldn't see where exactly it was coming from. Quickly decided that a trip to vet was needed and whipped him down.
Vet examined him and identified that it looked like he damaged a tooth/gum. Still bleeding profusely, Tobys colour looking less good. Talked about various options when Tobes went limp and unresponsive. Rallied almost immediately but vet decided to take him in abd asked us to phone later.
He rang approximately 40 minutes later to say that the bleeding had stopped, his capillary refill was good, his breathing & heart rate was good (he has a severe heart murmour & epilepsy) but they had sedated him & thus had knocked him flat.
Has to stay in overnight & things still touch & go. Got to ring at 11am - if I last that long!
If you have any spare thoughts, please send then Toby's
thanks
