My poor unlucky little boy

Some of you may remember Seth's eye problems.

I have just had it confirmed by a orthopedic specialist that he has hip dysplacia in both hips.

The right hip is the worst as the joint doesn't sit in the socket properly.

The specialists recommendation was crate rest until 18mths old which is completely unrealistic so we are going to keep to two 20min mentally intensive training sessions a day.

He wont work which is devastating but once hes 18mths we have decided to let him have a normal life for as long as he can.

Aw that's really sad news for the poor little mite :'(  I suppose you just have to do what is going to be best for him and help him lead a normal a life as is possible.   Sending gentle little hugs to little Seth :luv: :bigarmhug: Lesley

The breeder and the stud dog owner have taken the specialists and my vets contact details and are going to call me back when they get the reports.

The stud dog owner has said hes going to get his dogs hips looked at.

Would hydrotherapy at his age help him at all? Building the muscle up around the joints to try and support them more?  I don't know whether its an option because of his age - but just a thought.

I have thought about hydrotherapy and will ask my vet about it next time I speak to him.

shutting the door after the horse has bolted  ph34r  still it may save many puppies from HD in the future if they have them tested now.....

Seth is lucky to have you as his mum though and I am sure he will still lead a very happy life with you  :-\

That's really sad news for little Seth  :'( how is he coping? or should I say how are you coping?  :luv: Pebbles and I are thinking of you at this awfull time big  :bigarmhug: to you and lots of love and licks x x x
