Will the KC now put endorsements on the parents so that they aren't bred from again?

I dont know about the KC end but the breeder has spoke to the orthapedic specialist and decided never to breed from the dam again.

Jo, does he believe it comes from the dam? As you know, he is local to me and there are implications for several people I know.  I am so very sorry for you and Seth and Cath and Caoimhe.  It is devastating news.  You did everything right in searching for your perfect pups.  It's not your fault that others are possibly less responsible and caring than you. But, like HeatherandBenjy, I have discovered that there is an awful lot of medical support available for a dog with hip problems.  I am astonished at how well Gillon has progressed.  I know it's doubly bad for you two because you wanted to work your pups.  But there is still a lovely life ahead, I feel sure. x

I'm so sorry Cath hun, I've got my fingers crossed for Thursday. I can't believe any of this, it's so unfair :-\

me too - and it really saddens me to think that there could be others in the litter suffering too  :'( :'(

When I spoke to the breeder on Saturday, he assured me that a friend has the other 2 litter mates and they are perfectly fine!

Jo, thank you for getting in touch with me and being so supportive over this, you know how I feel hun. Thank you  :-*
Now roll on Thursday  :-\

God dont thank me.

I recommended Caoimhe to you and feel the very least I could do was to call and tell you Seths diagnosis.

Jo, don't you ever be sorry, you have nothing to be sorry about, and at the end of the day, I love Caoimhe to pieces and I wouldn't be without my little sweetheart for anything, she is utterly precious  :luv:

Again Cath I am so, so, so sorry.

Both for recommending Caoimhe and for the diagnosis.

Give me a ring on Thurs hun  :-*

No one can point to anyone and say it comes from the dam, sire or both.

The dams owner has decided not to bred the bitch again because there are no tests and no way to know.

It's an absolute minefield  :-\

Thank you all for your good wishes for Thursday, I will be glad when 5pm comes on the day and I get her home, no matter what the diagnosis  :luv:

Caoimhe is home safe and sound, with a better diagnosis than I had expected. I am pleased to let you all know Caoimhe's HD is confined to her left hip and it is mild. The vet said there is no reason why she can not live a happy, healthy life and work as she was intended for

I am so relieved for her, I just have to keep an eye on her and make sure she has a good diet and does not put on too much weight. I will manage that no problem  :D

I was so happy I could have hugged the vet  ph34r  :lol2:

I only wish I could change her brother Seth's diagnosis  :'( Caoimhe is a very lucky girl. Thank you all again for your good wishes for Caoimhe, your support has been tremendous and very much appreciated.

Loads of working cocker kisses to you all from Caoimhe the diva :-*
