Hope the poor lad is ok.  Burdock is a nightmare and the little hooks on those seeds have probably got stuck in his throat >:D.

I purposely avoid walking anywhere that I know has burdock as they've always caused such a problem in the past just for the dogs coats resulting in me having to clip two dogs completely as it is near on impossible to remove it once it has got hold.  Worse now as the seed heads are dead.  There have been times when Roly has tried to remove seeds from his own coat and swallowed them, causing very similar symptoms, coughing and gagging etc. I know that I fed him little bits of fresh bread in the hope that it would dislodge the seeds would stick to it.

Big hugs to the little brown boy and hope that he is none the worse for it. :luv:

Picking him up at 6.45 - they gave him a GA so he's pretty groggy.  The back of his throat is really sore but nothing was there (vet thinks he's managed to throw it up before we got there).  The underside of his tongue is really raw and sore as well for some reason (he hasn't been chewing anything untoward at all in the last 24 hours so that's a mystery)

I also asked vet to needle aspirate a lump he has as well  (fingers crossed on that one too  ph34r )

Glad he is out of theatre, poor Jarvis, everything crossed that the lump is harmless. Enjoy your cocker cuddles and a very large glass of wine tonight  :-*

Poor Jarvis :'(

I'm sure he'll be feeling a bit groggy tonight, and if he's anything like William after a GA he'll be both unsettled and exhausted and will alternate between pacing restlessly and laying down looking mournful. But I'm sure he'll be a lot happier tomorrow after a rest and lots of TLC :luv:

Fingers crossed that the lump is a harmless one.

Elaine - he's exactly as you described, poor little chap  :-\

He's home - entirely unimpressed with life  ph34r

Good news all round though - the lump on his side which was needle aspirated is only a lipoma.  Throat/mouth is a mystery - nothing found but it's likely he threw whatever it was up, and vet is almost 100 percent sure it was seeds.   He's ripped the membrane under his tongue as well but think that's cos he was frantically trying to get rid of whatever it was out of his mouth.

And I'm £269.25 poorer!  >:(

Ohh bless him. Poor man. Glad he's home and was nothing too serious. Sorry about your poor bill though   :-\

What a nightmare. Main thing is he's home where he belongs. I'd have that big glass of wine if I was you!
