Molly's blood tests were OK so they said she could come home.
Picked her up, she had a wee outside the vets and we came home. She went out into the garden had another wee, had a usual Molly grump at the other dogs
She was trying to drink some water but couldn't seem to stand and do it. Gave her some ice cubes and Sue said is she limping, she did seem to be a little. Popped her in a crate to rest. She seemed to go flat, so I got her out and she wouldn't put her paw on the floor. Felt her paw and up her leg. The top of her leg was swollen and she screamed. Thought she'd broke her leg but couldn't see how.
Took her back to the vets and the nurse didn't recognize her as the same dog she had just discharged, she was really flat. They think she has phlebitis and an infection has got into the vein where her cannula was. They said it sometimes happens but rarely [would happen to us wouldn't it]
Her temperature was up, he didn't seem to happy about the vet who saw her before her discharge, kept saying it wasn't him. Still charged for the privilege though. He gave her 3 jabs Synulox, Rimadyl and vetergesic. So she is now back in her crate and has to go back at 9.30 in the morning. Or to the vets now if she is poorly through the night. [Hope she doesn't they charge the earth before you walk in the door]
She has to have another blood test next Wednesday to check her kidneys are still OK.
So that's me on nursing duties tonight. Poor little Minx.
