think we are back to square one with ozzy  :'( this morning he was crying out in pain and just laid on the floor , he laid there for about 5 mins , then he laid in his bed . so it looks like he's going to be resting up longer than we thought  :016:

I am sorry but if it were Lyla I would be insisting on seeing a specialist, not getting advice from the vet secondhand from the specialist via the phone.  It is clear that resting is not helping him as it should and every day you leave it is a day of pain for him.  If it is just rest that he needed then he would have been improving by now :-\. I know they said leave it a month but you cannot do that knowing he is so sore.  Please consider taking him back and insisting they refer Ozzy to someone who is a specialist in this field.

That poor dog needs to be seen ASAP by a vet.

I too think he needs to go back to the vet and to be referee to a specialist. I think I'd be asking for an MRI scan.

Please get Ozzy referred to a specialist to find out exactly what's going on and what can be done.

I haven't posted this before because I didn't want to scare you, but many years ago I lost my lovely 10 year old Cocker, Sam, due to damaged discs in his neck. His pain was intense and it was before surgery techniques were as advanced as they are now. It broke my heart.

Please get Ozzy back to the vet. He needs a proper diagnosis and adequate pain relief in the meantime.

Not being critical, but personally I would not be happy with this level of attention from my vet.  YOu need a specialist referral urgently.

update on ozzy ..... he is so much better now  :D and doesnt seem to be in any pain , he is wanting to play by draging his towel around , and pinching my washing when i am loading the machine  >:D , we havent taken him out yet going to give it another couple of days then take him for a little walk with his new harness. so hopefully for now things have settled we are just going to have to limit what he does .

glad he seems to be feeling better, things are definitely going int he right direction.
I'd definitely keep resting him up for longer and try not to let him put too much weight on cos that won't help, Jennie is most annoyed she doesn't get as much dinner as she used too :D

Hope the harness training is going well, I know he didn't really like it :)

I would definately try and keep his weight down as being on the heavy side will put more strain on his back/neck.  I have always been carefull to keep our charlie on the lighter side as advised after his surgery.  Glad to hear things are getting better.
