'Mouthing' possible sting?
« on: October 18, 2009, 01:01:21 PM »
Help!
I have a 5 month old male who after a long walk this morning is 'mouthing' a lot as if he is trying to lick toffee off the roof of his mouth.
Whilst we were out he was having a good sniff when he suddenly jumped back as if spooked.  He made no yelp or noise at all and carried on the rest of the walk perfectly fine eating his treats when we got to kerbs etc.

I have talked myself into the fact that he has been stung although I saw no evidence of a wasp/bee.  I have checked the inside of his mouth and can see no foreign object and to my untrained eye his mouth appears to be normal.  He will let you tickle and stroke him under and around the chin area and apart from being sleepy from his walk appears fine.

I have read the previous posts regarding piriton for stings but wondered if it could be anything else perhaps teething?

I have just tried to brush him and he was more interested in chewing the brush so from that point of view he appears perfectly normal!!
