Great news Sheryl.

Stop beating yourself up about missed symptoms, they were so vague and inconsistent that I'm sure we would have all put them down to other reasons too.

Way to go Lyla :clapping:

Sheryl everything sounds as if you are going in the right direction.  Please dont beat yourself up we are only human.  I have never forgiven myself for letting the vet give Charlie metcam when he presented on the Friday with a sore back.  By Sunday he was paralysed in both back legs and they couldnt give him steroids until the Monday as they dont mix with metacam.  We all do our best then find that knowledge is a wonderful thing.  Hugs to you all.  Sounds as if Lyla is now feeling better from being home with her family who love her.  Well done Lyla keep eating and drinking for your mum.
Hugs to you all

can you get her a little chicken or turkey and leave it on a plate for her, im sure she will be tempted, the cough may be because she had a pipe down her throat when she had the op and for what its worth i dont think the vets would have done an op straight away if you had taken her in as its quite a big operation , we all could have/would have done something different at one time or another with hindsight , i think you have to accept thats part of owning and loving your dogs , we can just do the best we can for them  :luv: concentrate on getting her up and walking again when the time is right
