PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home ex-breeding dogs where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company.  They get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up.
 
 This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. To adopt a dog from Many Tears Animal Rescue please make sure you have read our adoption procedures before applying.  You will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog.  All our dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so.  If you are adopting a puppy you will need to provide details of training classes in your area. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £150.  If you are interest in adopting please call the rescue centre between 10am and 4pm on 01269 843084. We are unable to return phone calls so please try again if your call is not answered.

Oh my such a sweetheart  :luv: Wish I was more experienced, would love to be able to offer a home to one of the many beautiful cockers that are coming into rescue these days

Oh but he is beautiful  :luv:  How tragic to think that he has been in a farm for SEVEN YEARS   :'(    At least my two were only there for three or so.

Please someone give him a home - he is gorgeous.

And what is weird is that he has a real look of Alice my little black girl - same hair style and face.  I wonder if he could be her dad......I suppose that it's not too far fetched an idea is it?

Just had a look at Alice - you're right  - he really does look like her, it's possible he's her father or somehow related  :-\  He is gorgeous- I'd love to see him smiling  :luv:

My Holly came from M.T. She is so like him wonder if he was her dad. poor boy 7 years  :'( just hope he finds a wonderful family who will show him just what  :luv: is. he looks so lovely bless him hope a COl takes him on then we can get up dates.

Wez is such a cuddly boy!  :luv:
He is being fostered by us at the moment. Just loves the company + his food!
Picked him up yesterday with Abbey the working cocker.  :D
So he is now up in Scotland if anyone fancies a handsome fella!  ;)

Will update properly later on but just thought I would let you know that this poor boy had not had any interest in him whilst he was in Wales. :'(

Omg.  :luv: :luv: He just tugs at your heart!!! We've been seriously thinking about getting another
Cocker as Sam has turned one and Cameron's had his 7th Birthday and totally Loves his Brother.
Sadly, I don't think Manytears would Cater to us as Sam's our first Cocker (although not our first dog)
Please, Please someone with Experience take on Wez.

He is even more beautiful than I thought. I so wish that we could give a home to another but we just can't. Why does no-one want him? He is gorgeous.  :luv:

Oh I want him look at that face, I am choked, I have a black cocker so yes would OH notice if I smuggled in another one, train him to answer to Bella and he will be ok :005 could do with him stooping to, if he cocked his leg that might give the game away!!!

I seriously would love to have him but we both work full time so no rescue centre would even consider us. I don't know why no one wants him he is so handsome. What a shame. feel a bit gutted, he deserves a wonderful forever home.

Hello Wez here! :luv:
My foster mummy tells me that I am a handsome good boy but no one seems to want me. :'(
I was a stud dog for 7 years so I am just learning how to live in a house. I am still a bit confused + unsure of what is expected of me, but with lots of love and cuddles I will learn.
I do scent mark now + again but my foster mummy tells me that is getting better.  I have had a few accidents with housetraining but I mainly go outside! :005:  (I am fully housetrained when it comes to pooping! :clapping:.)
I like to go walks although I do get my lead tangled up round the others! ph34r
My foster mummy keeps brushing me which I am beginning to enjoy although I do crouch down. I also crouch down when getting dried + being petted but I am getting better.  My tail wags quickly when I see people + give my foster mummy kisses.
I was underweight when I came in so I do eat really quickly + jump up when my dinner is getting made.  I also had to have 6 teeth removed as they were bad.
I have a few old sores that have dried up now + my coat is starting to look shiny.
I am sitting here waiting on my new forever home like a good boy.

He is lovely, black Cockers are my downfall! :luv:

How is he with other dogs and in the car? Does he go off lead yet, and do you think he pefers to live indoors or outdoors? ;)

Wez is fine with other dogs - travelled up here with Abbey the working cocker.  Is fine with Poppy my dog + misty my pup!  Had a few grumbles the first day but fine now.  (Not growling just grumbling! :005:)  He gets on with other dogs we meet out as well.  He doesn't chase a ball with the others or jump around daft with them but he does sniff them + trot after them, so perhaps when he is feeling more confident he will play!
He is fine in  the car - travelled from down south up to Fife with no problems or car sickness. Just settled down and slept.  :D
He has not gone off lead yet as he is still getting used to his name! :005: You could say it about 5 times before he comes or looks at you at times.  But he is on a long lead + enjoys that!
Definately prefers indoor living in his comfy bed!

Wez has got to me in a big way, just mentioned him to OH and he wanted to know how much you were selling him for. Bless him I had to explain how rescue works. I was very touched though that he would have bought him for us, OH wants to rescue a cocker too but he did not realise that you have to be the right parents for the right dog and in the right situation too.. He looks and sounds such a lovely boy and if we did not work we would be filling in application forms not typing this. I so hope someone can give him a wonderful forever home. I love that new photo of him even if it does tug at my heart in a very very big way :luv:

I feel so sad that he was so close to us in South Wales and there was so little interest in him.

We would love another cocker although we've only had Blod a month and have no previous experience.

Little cocker prayers that his forever mummy and daddy find their way to Wez soon...

Mine too! But living in Northern Ireland it just wouldn't be practical.

I would just love to take him  Im in North Wales will show OH his picture when he comes in not sure rescue people will approve us as we have such a small garden but live very close to lots of lovely walks.  We both work but doggies come with us.   Have a female Jack Russell 8 years old and spayed, lost my lovely golden cocker in January.  He was rescued at 7 so maybe an omen.

If he's the soft hearted type with a conscience, how about setting the scene with the awful life they have and then how grateful they are, and how good it will make him feel? If he's the practical type, what little bother he will be, which may be stretching things initially. Otherwise you'll just have to plead.

my biggest problem is when i go away for four days in december we have someone to look after Kia but they are looking after my sisters dog too and not sure he can cope with a third as he is 82.  I cant postpone either cos its my daughters wedding.  i wasnt going to start looking until the new year!  But some how this one has really got to me, leave it with me over the weekend and i will ring many tears on monday.

Oh Diane I hope you can persuade your OH, I have just seen that new photo of him by the fridge with his sad cocker eyes. It breaks my heart it really does.
Lucky you being able to take your dogs to work, that was our plan they were to go to work with OH, but our situation unfortunately changed. When are you away in December?

Spent weekend talking and thinking but its just too far to travel its nearly 7 hours each way :(

Wez was at my vets for his post op check (which the vet kindly done for free!) and they pointed out that he has cataracts.  Which you can see when you look in his eyes as they are cloudy.  The cataracts are not enough to make him bump into things but obviously any new owners must take this into consideration.
So anyone want a 7 year old black cocker who has a few warts, some teeth removed + cataracts?!!  Bless  :luv: :luv:
He is a lovely dog + his tail wags lots and is starting to have mad cocker moments running around the garden!
Since he always looks sad in his photos here is a little video of the gorgeous boy wagging his tail so you can see he is a happy boy! :D

I would have him tomorrow if I could. What an absolutely adorable little boy he is  :luv: :luv: :luv:
Wish he could be mine. Give him a huge cuddle from me, I feel gutted.
Its lovely to see him happy though and wagging his tail I just want to hug him. As for the cataracts warts and missing teeth it will all add to his character.
Keep posting pics of him, someone somewhere will be in the right situation to have him.

Gari had cataracts and they never held him back, I just wore bright or light clothes so he could see me easily. However, one year on hols at a log cabin, he was standing at the window barking at something, and neither OH or I could see anything. On very close inspection I spotted a very camouflaged cat hiding in the bushes away across the garden... ::) :lol2:

Yes it was Misty barking - she likes to be heard! :005: Think she was annoying Poppy!  If you are at the next meet I am sure she will annoy Duggie too! :D
Wez is coming on good - loves his food.  Jumps up at the worktops when there is food on the go! (especially when his food is being softened as he has to wait! :005:)
He he - Gari was good at spotting cats then!  :luv:

To be honest others have done this distance either in one go or a stay overnight but i know that's not for everyone + many tears and many other rescues require people to pick dogs up themselves

As a rescue we regularly have to take dogs to the dogs trust over in Canterbury which from the Valleys is a fair wack

Hi Jo, I'm Noelle, the one who came to do your home check a few weeks ago.  You look like you've got your hands full now!  Your own two are gorgeous, having met Poppy  :luv:
I really can't believe how much Wez looks like our Charlie - he's his double.  I'd love to have him, but we have two already and the RAF only allow two   >:(   Would love to meet him though    :luv:
Has he had much interest?

Wez is doing great - coming on well.  He is such good natured + is starting to play now.
(I must do another write up for MT).  I have to get him cat tested as well as someone emailed MT asking how he was with cats.
He hasn't had much interest i'm afraid to say - no applications as of yet! :'(
He loves meeting people so he would love to meet you to!

Now I've had Max and Alfie neutered I would have this boy in a heartbeat but there's no way I can get up to Scotland to meet him. I feel so sad that he's still waiting although he's luckier than many to have such a lovely foster mum

I would love to give him a home but with Dylan being still quite little (5 months) and our first cocker, I don't think now is the right time! He is gorgeous tho!

For our second cocker (yes, I'm planning already) we'll look at a rescue, he's come a year or so early!

I really hope he finds a home soon, although I'm sure he's having a lovely time with gorgeouspoppy!

I would definately have him, the only problem for me is he is a 9 hour drive away. and I would have to consider Dolly our 11yr old cocker on a journey that long, she is losing her sight, but he would be a great companion for her. He is the absolute image of our Beau who we lost in July. Dolly is still pining for him. We were turned down for Tia as they wanted to home her with a younger dog.

We'd definitely be interested in offering him a loving home but...it's an awfully long drive from Plymouth up to Scotland and I'm not sure my five would appreciate it (in fact, I know they wouldn't). If only he was in Wales. :-\

Anybody wanting to rehome Wez could break up their journey with an overnight stay at a Travel Lodge or similar (which accepts dogs) or take the opportunity to enjoy a short break in a lovely area of Scotland. That's what I would do if I had a long journey ahead. :D

Spoke with my OH at length last night. He said he is unable to do the journey. (he had a double hip replacement earlier this year) and he said his legs are not up to the journey yet.  :'( We are both so sorry,we would have loved this boy. I really hope he finds his forever home soon.

Up until the time we had passed Penny's foster-mum interrogation (and believe me, she makes MI5 look like rank amateurs  :005:) we didn't actually know we would be coming away with Cassie.  It cut both ways.  We had to be confident that Cass and Millie could get on.  After two years rehabilitating Millie (an MT rescue), we would actually have walked away if it seemed likely she would be knocked back by Cassie.  You can't see everything in a morning but you can tell enough to know if it will work or not. (It did ... brilliantly  :luv:) If you simply 'take delivery' you run the risk of having to return an even more confused dog later and everyone will get hurt by the failure.  The other thing is that, although that weekend away is an undoubted strain (it was an 800 mile round trip for us), it is a small investment of time given that you are hoping to spend the next 6-7 years together.  Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Sorry Sheryl - didn't mean to imply that you were doing anything other than being really kind in helping Wez to a clearly loving home.  :'(  I was just trying to point out that there are risks in not meeting a dog face to face first, even after a good home vetting.

He's such a sweet boy :-* Walked nicely didn't pull once and always stuck by you (or his Mummy).

Just a minute. Flo seems to enjoy a level of cocker comfort which by any measure is extreme! Sheeps skin rugs, pink duvets. Rufus will have to give Wez some tips on how attractive leaves, dead slugs mud and other assorted debris can look on bedding. Lucky Wez. Please take lots of piccies showing him casing his new joint! I expect Flo is a VWBC, so she won't want to share Wez's membership of NBCC.

They were just sitting there on the edge of the kitchen table looking yummy so I grabbed them, tipped a few out for the others then ran outside and eat the rest.  You would think my foster mummy would know better than to leave food lying around within easy reach.  :005: ::)

 A bit off topic but, expert Helen? were you just being kind about the last photo?

 Reason I ask is that I've just got a Nikon slr and that's one of the first pics I took. :-\  Only on auto as I haven't a clue what to do with it properly  ::)

I'm going on a 2 day beginners course at the end of November with a local photographer

I could see it was on a DSLR - the depth of field is different, and where it is focussed it is very sharp.  Watch your focus points as the camera tries to focus on the closest thing (that would be Flo's shnoz then  :luv: :lol2:) so to get the eyes sharp you have to re-focus on them.  In this case though her teefies and nose are what you wanted sharp so it works  :luv: :luv: Have fun on the course and you have no excuse for not posting a GAZILLION pictures soon  ;)

Carol could have eaten off the floor when she came the place was so clean to kill time. My kids rooms have never been tidier either cos I told them 'the lady' would be checking the whole house and if they had stuff lying about that could be dangerous to the dog then we wouldn't get her  :lol: ph34r

This is my first post.  Nicola McClure brought the Forum to my attention.  The first thing that caught my attention was this thread about Wez.  I am a huge Many Tears fan and always try to support and follow their work.  I knew that Wez was being fostered up in Scotland and reading that he may have found a fantastic forever home and reading all the lovely messages of support has really brought a smile to my face.  I will look forward to hearing how Wez gets on in his new home (as I am sure Home Check will go fine) and will look forward to chatting to my fellow cocker crazies going forward.  Gemma xxxx

I am so so happy, I have loved this boy for so long. I am totally and utterly thrilled for Wez that he is getting the wonderful forever home he deserves.

Anyway, we are  off to Scotland today  :banana: ( oo i do like this new banana smiley  :005:) Me Flo and my friend Margaret are going to stay overnight near to Wez, meet him this evening, then again in the morning and if all ok we will ring him home  :banana:
