I really wish we could have him....will cross our fingers and paws that he gets a good home very soon :luv:

Me too.

BUT we have Gabby who is only 6 months AND we are currently in the process of applying for a visa to emigrate to New Zealand.

I'm keeping everything crossed that he finds a lovely home and if circumstances were different I would have him immediately.

Er - do you have something to share  :shades:
The reason dogs have so many friends is because they wag their tails instead of their tongues.

I would love to think that I am sharing that news with you but I really do not think that my circumstances at the moment would be ideal for him - just waiting for someone to tell me otherwise.  ;) ;)

when are you emigrating?  Perhaps you could emigrate with two dogs?   Is Gabby an easy pup?  Do you have the time to give to a needy rescue and Gabby? Do you have support for packing/moving/shipping and all the stuff that entails in the move?  If the move is soon, maybe you could arrange to keep him in foster til you move.....?  Only you can tell yourself the answer that's right :)

28-04-09 UPDATE

Impress has his operation to castrate him and removed his teeth which as you can see were in an appalling condition. Now he is ready to start his new life and he will love it. He is for adoption by donation as he is no spring chicken but he is active and so enjoying being with us. So give him a chance to learn about what a home life is like.

he is gorgeous. Do you think he needs to be homed with a quiet dog? I wonder if a bouncy younger dog would be too much for him.

I have contacted MT offering at least a foster home to Impress, but unfortunately I am not suitable because the groovy gang are all entire males. ( they have never given me any reason to get them neutered and I'm not doing it now at their old ages or Aidee)

I did explain how I gave Luke a fab home in his last months from the dogs trust, but the answer is no  :-\

I tried

Zen Dog...he knows not where he is going, for the ocean will decide. Its not the destination....its the glory of the ride.

I don’t understand how that would make any difference. I would understand if it was a little girl but they would be all boys. ::)
Maybe someone will come along and explain it for me. :luv:

I think its the policy so that dogs are not used for breeding now or in the future, as if you have a puppy off them you have to sign an agreement to have them neutered. However in your case as he will be neutured and he is male, I don't really see why you can't at least foster him , I would imagine you tick all the boxes otherwise. They won't allow adoption to a family with any uneutered pets , I think its a personal desicion whether you have your pets neutured and does not automatically make you irresponsible or a puppy farm owner!! and this policy excludes a lot of superb homes, their policy is that all pets should be neutured to reduce the number of unwanted dogs and of course we all agree with this but it doesn't make those owners who choose not to neuter their animals and care for them properly irresponsible. I am not calling MT bad here this is my personal opinion, and they do a FANTASTIC  job but not everything is black and white in the real world is it????????
