I did explain how I gave Luke a fab home in his last months from the dogs trust, but the answer is no   :-\

Aww! I must have missed that you lost Luke, I'm sorry for your loss  :'(  - how lucky he was to have spent his last months being loved and cared for  :luv:

What a shame you can't do the same for this sweet boy  :luv:  - I really hope someone can help him soon!

They do use some discretion as when we offered a home to Dylan last year our oldest boy Toby is entire but I explained that he was too old and not physicaly well enough to go through the operation and they accpeted this.
Fingers crossed for Impress :luv:

I don’t understand how that would make any difference. I would understand if it was a little girl but they would be all boys. ::)
Maybe someone will come along and explain it for me. :luv:

13-05-09 UPDATE
Impress is such a perfect pet dog - lovely, gentle and affectionate in the house and very well behaved when he is outside or on a walk. He loves to be stroked but is still wary of hands coming down to him, although he gets better every day. He is nearly clean in the house although mistakes do happen when he forgets. He is a very well put-together boy and extremely good looking with a soft spaniel face and gentle, sad eyes. He is good with all livestock and doesn't chase cats, chickens etc. He runs free off the lead and never wanders far. He needs to be homed with another dog as he gets upset if he left completely alone but, with a companion, he rests quietly. This lovely boy deserves a really super home as he is so ready to love someone. He would make an ideal family pet.

PS: He has just eaten half a lemon pudding so he will steal if food is left available! He is not quite perfect!

Had the same dilema when I lost Indie, but I was so glad when I got Misha (3 months later) - I only wish that I'd done it sooner as she soon brought the smile back to my face.  I was still sad that I had lost Indie (she was my first dog of my own), but another dog gave me something to focus on especially as I'd lost my horse two weeks prior as well, so really was an unhappy bunny with too much time to feel sorry for myself.

So I would go for it.

It is soon, but if you feel ready, I would say, go for it.  I think Nelly would be pleased that you have offered another special doggy a place in your heart.

Only you can answer this.  For some giving a home to another special doggie will help to heal the wounds, while others need to begin the healing process before they can open their heart to another canine friend.  The fact that you have even asked suggests to me you may be one of the former - and I'm sure Nelly would be very pleased that you were looking to help another special doggie - but the answer lies in your own heart.  :luv:

Totally agree with this - but it could be fate.....(he is very lovely though, I would love a Col'er to have him....)
