VIRTUE - ID 2154 Many Tears
« on: March 26, 2010, 01:19:57 AM »

 :luv: :luv: :luv:

25-03-10 Virtue is a lovely girl at 7 years old would love her forever home to come soon. She is a very sweet ex-breeding cocker, who has been good as gold here and is just been an absolute darling. She would like another dog to live with who would keep her happy and help her gain in confidence. Virtue's skin is at the moment very sore and we are treating this condition and hopefully this will come right in time. Don't miss out on this very special girl!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home ex-breeding dogs where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company.  They get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up.

This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG:
Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, inoculated and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If you are adopting a puppy you will need to provide details of training classes in your area. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for dogs at the centre.

I just wanted to cry when I saw her little face.  :'(  She reminded me SO much of Kinda.
I would have her tomorrow but I know I wouldn't be allowed  :'(
I have to work part-time and know I don't meet the requirements for rehoming.
I feel so sad I can't do more.  :'(

It does seem that way.....can we not do something, look at them, surely these places can be shut down.

I would have one of them like a shot, we meet all the requirements BUT we're off to Africa in August and our sitter wouldn't be able to cope with 3 dogs  :'( :'( any ideas?

Virtue arrived with Valentino yesterday and both have settled well. Both slept right through the night in the kitchen without incident. We have taken them on a short walk tonight and both are adapting well to walking on a lead. Both dogs are confident and met new people and dogs on the walk and were unfazed by traffic and other noises.

The pictures of both dogs are a little unflattering, so will hopefully get some new ones sorted soon.  ;)

Virtue is a dream to foster, fitting well into our Cocker pack. She walks well on lead and although we have tried her off lead, her recall will need work. She is definitely a lady and does not like getting her feet wet and will walk round rather than through puddles. Her toilet training is going well, although she does tend to mark if our other male foster dog marks first. She sleeps through the night in the kitchen and quickly settles after some initial woo-wooing (only a couple of minutes). She loves to cuddle and is normally first to find “her” spot on the sofa. She still has a small dry skin patch on her back but it is beginning to heal. She has a cataract in her right eye which is visible in the photos.
