Something similar to pizzles?
« on: May 19, 2012, 09:18:46 PM »
Hi all,

I recently bought Molly a pack of 5 pizzles, and she has loved them over the past few weeks.  The one we have given her tonight has taken her nearly 2 hours non-stop to eat, and she's only got through just over half of it; OH is made up that he has had no puppy disturbances whilst watching the footy!

Anyway, I was just wondering whether there are any chews I can give her which are similar (i.e they take a long time to get through)?!  We've had tripe/paddywhack/stuffed hooves/kongs/rawhide/fish skins which are all great, but don't keep her as amused as pizzle has!  We've tried a stag bar and she didn't like it at all.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Juno loves the ostrich sinews from Zooplus.  Don't last quite as long as pizzles but still a good long chew.

Beef scalp lasts for ages but I'm not sure the peace is worth the smell! It's absolutely vile. I only let her have it in the garden.

I was going to ask the same as Tilly REALLY REALLY needs something good to chew on...she has been a nightmare with secondary teething this past week or so...and has destroyed everyone of her toys!

Thanks for your suggestions Juno!

I bought the pizzles from zooplus, the link is here:

Thanks for that. Finn is now just over 4 months and he needs something now that he can have a nice long chew on. And not everything that he shouldn't chew on !  :005:

Quite often these are available to buy in agricultural/farm feed shops - though usually they will be in their 2/3ft natural length  :fear2:  :005:  ph34r

Oh gosh, think I'll pass on them being that big!  Edited to add, my comment sounds rather rude!
