So sorry to hear things are difficult at the moment with your precious boy.  :'(

I am glad to hear he is still enjoying his walks though .

Everything crossed for tomorrow and also for Sweep's op - it is such a worry when they are not right  :-\  :bigarmhug:

Well dropped Archie off first thing & vet  was on phone within the hour.  Archie has a peri cardio effusion which means the sac surrounding his heart is filled with fluid - which is why his breathing was so laboured.  They are currently draining off the fluid and he should be much more comfortable almost immediately.
The vet said that he couldn’t see anything sinister (tumour) that might be the cause although some dogs are susceptible to this particularly German Shepherds.  In other dogs it’s something that happens and they go on to make a full recovery.  So fingers crossed for the moment
Thanks once again for you thoughts - will keep you posted

That sounds more positive than what you were probably anticipating.  Everything crossed for a good recovery for Archie.

Sounds hopeful - hope they can make him comfortable and he has no recurrence.  :D

Is he home yet?  You will be relieved to have him home with you   :luv:

Archie is home - we are so relieved.  The vet said he was a poorly boy and they drained 300ml of fluid which is a huge amount.  His breathing is much better tonight and he is sleeping off the sedation at the moment.  Not before being hand fed chicken tit bits however...........😉
We just have to wait and see now - our next appointment is Monday,  Fingers crossed it does not return
Thank you for all you kind thoughts and prayers - what a lovely forum this is.

Next challenge Sweeps op on Thursday ................. :-\

Glad he's feeling better. And lucky boy to be hand fed chicken. (Bonnie wants to know what other ways there are to eat chicken anyway?)

Oh that IS good news indeed!  You must be so relieved to have him home, safe and sound, where he belongs.  I think the hand-fed chicken tit bits will go a long way to aid his recovery, bless him.

All good wishes from Freddie and me for Sweep on Thursday and all the very best for Archie's review next Monday.

Do please let us know how they progress.

Sending more hugs [but not being clever enough to know how you insert the appropriate emoji!!]
