Hiya everyone
Just a tip about pet insurance, when I spoke to my vet initially about insurance she recommended I took out one with a company who will insure for continuous treatment over 12 months, ie. say Scooby needs to have his plate/pins etc. removed in 12 month's time, most insurance companies won't cover you and you then would have to foot the bill yourself.
Scooby's insured with "More Than" and I know "Pet Plan" do continuous cover as well, but they wanted about £17.00 per month whereas I pay £10.40 per month for Scooby. Also, "More Than" are offering 2 months free insurance at the moment.
Just thought it was worth mentioning cause you really don't ever think anything serious would happen to your pet and look what happened to us, so unexpectedly.

I'm with Sainsbury too, but I was with More than with my old dog,and they were very good, she cost I fortune in her last year, but they paid promptly every time.
-
Vahri is with More Than - but I don't think they offer life cover.
Ruffy is with M&S - too early yet for me to rate them on handling any probs - but with them it is life cover.
Time will tell.

I've just signed Bosco up with M & S last week.
Would be interested to know if anyone has had any experience of claiming with them. How they handled it etc.

Had to make my first claim two weeks ago. The vets rang them to make sure I wasnt paying an excess and were they happy with dealing with them direct and thats the last Ive heard :) So, so far so good :)

That's good then!
Lets just hope I never have to make a claim for whatever reason.

more than is a life policy ie continuous treatment however long it takes , i used to be with sainsburys but changed because they will only pay for 12 months treatment

:D Hi Marie-231,You worried me then we just checked our policy although we were very careful when we picked Sainsburys because of this clause, it states they won,t stop paying claims after 12 months.

Isn't there an amount per condition though?

When I was in the UK Piper was insured with M&S. She was diagnosed with HD and M&S were great - paid out no problem at all. Actually, when her renewal came through they had even reduced the monthly rate, despite her having cost them well over a thousand pounds the previous year!
