Title: Help my pup to GO please

Hello !


Sorry to trouble you !

Can you help me my 16wk old pup seems to be constipated , she hasnt 'been' for 2days ...... any ideas what i should give her to make her GO ??
Other than that shes ok , she was sick on Friday afternoon , but was bouncing around by the nightime !

Is she eating OK Gaynor? Are you absolutely sure she hasn'y "been" - they can sometimes hide.

Do you know if she may have eaten anything suspect, none food perhaps a bit of a that may have broken off?

What is her usual food - if you give egg and or pasta, then I'd hold off on those as they help to bind them. Try giving a bit of tinned dog food or just meat, that will often loosen them up, but only if you know none of the above apply.

Otherwise, if she starts looking off colour, a trip to the vets may ne called for.

If what Pam suggests doesn't help and she seems to be okay in herself otherwise, you could give her a teaspoon (and I mean 1 single tsp) of liquid parraffin which you can get from the chemists. If this doesn't help free her up then I would certainly get her checked over at your vets.

Lactulose helps (recommended by my vet), which you can buy from any chemist.

Hi there !


Thanks for your responses ! , im pleased to say shes back to 'normal' !!

I will however go and get some liquid parrafin , and some lactulose , just in case i ever need it again !
