Ekoneem for Bald Spot
« on: February 03, 2018, 12:26:14 PM »
Hi All

Jessie is developing a bald spot on her tail, vet thinks it's over the gland and said "it just happens and they don't know why".  If possible I would like to prevent this from getting worse so wondered if anyone had any advice or if the use of Ekoneem may help?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Marley age 10 developed a bald patch on her tail too.  I thought it was an age related thing.  Then the texture of her coat gradually changed and slowly she started to lose hair.  I took her to the vets who took blood and sent off for results.
It showed she has an under active thyroid and she is now on medication for it.
I am not saying that Jessie has that but just watch if it gets bigger.
I was also given Malaseb shampoo to help her skin and fur.

Archie has had this a couple of times. The first time I bathed it with hibiscrub but that made him interested in it and he chewed it raw and needed steroids to stop it. The next time it just cleared up on its own without any intervention and is now fine.

Thank you for your responses and advice.  She isn't currently bothered by it at all but I will certainly monitor it as suggested.
