Liver Tumour : Update Number 3
« on: June 03, 2018, 11:42:20 AM »
My lovely 8 year old Lottie went to our vets last week as I noticed she is ‘ under the weather ‘ . A CT scan showed an 11 cm growth on her Liver . Deciding to try to operate the vet took her back in and found it had got round a few arteries and blood veins he could not detach so deemed it inoperable .

We are devastated and she is now home for palliative care .

Anyone who has any homeopathic tested remedies or complementary therapies like acupuncture they have tried out I’d love to hear how you got on .
I want to make her last weeks with us as good as possible

Thanks

last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such
devotion."

I'm very sorry to read this. We too lost our first cocker at 8 to liver cancer,  many years ago now.
I believe that turmeric can be very beneficial and is something I would be considering for my present dogs if they were to fall ill.

No advice I‘m afraid but sending positive thoughts out to you and Lottie in the hope that she‘ll be with you for a little while yet and that you‘ll find something to help her stay comfortable!  :bigarmhug:

So very sorry  :bigarmhug: We had the same situation with Max, although he had a cyst and not a tumour, but the outcome was the same. I used Red Clover from Neal's Yard, it was just a few drops designed to support his liver. The lady in the shop was able to advise for animal use as well as human, which was good. His appetite wasn't great and the vet gave him an injection to help that. Max had anything he fancied to eat, and basically was pampered and spoiled while we had him. I am sorry. X

Thank you for reading and posting .

Lottie is just panting heavily today all day , which I believe to be a side effect of the Rimydal . So we are changing to Metacam tomorrow . Think we had this trouble before . Also reading about Rimydal I’m not sure it was the best thing to give her anyway ..

I lost my darling Ellie almost 2 years ago very suddenly to multiple tumours in her liver.

I know the pain you are in and if I could take that pain away, I would.

My heart goes out to you.

Both you and Lottie are in my prayers and I hope with all my heart you are together for as long as possible.

The same from me, I know the pain of losing a pet too soon.  it helps to make every day a cherished memory. Two days before losing Bob to kidney failure we drove  the seventy miles to the coast, where he was really happy paddling and sniffing . I m welling up now at reminding myself, but in a good way.  It's so unfair.
RIP Marti  the EPI springer age 12,  and beloved black cocker Bobby, 8 yrs old, too soon, from PLN.
Now owned by TInker, tiny hairy grey poodle/terrier rescue from Greece and Jack, local rescue,   scruffy ginger terrier mutt.

Sorry to hear xx

If you request to join the Turmeric Users UK facebook page, there is a canine cancer protocol you can follow x A friends dog has also been diagnosed with this and has been given a new drug by her vet which seems to have stopped her tumour getting worse.  I will find out what is is.

Update on Lottie : Well we have had a change in circumstances . I asked our vet while he had Lottie open to take a biopsy and see what type of cancer it was . He was so sure she had no hope at all. Came back as Benign! Could not believe it . 😱 So he then had a dilemma as he could not operate as the tumour was too thick and he had no staples or other equipment to seal it with . So after a lot of messing about we have been referred to Professor Nick Bacon at Fitzpatrick Vets in Guildford Surrey . So we are off there tomorrow to see if they have any equipment that could possibly cut some of this tumour off and seal it so Lottie can have some better quality of life as it’s not affecting liver function .
Prayers and best wishes for her ❤️❤️❤️
