the result of all this tooing and frowing from the vets has come to a conclusion.... the vet said jessie is allergic to the material used in her stitches and the swellin and openin of the wound is the bodys way of trying to get rid of them..  :-

shes now on a 7 day course of antibiotics ...again!... and has hue red letters with allergic to V******** which are the stitches but I cant remember the name right now...

just wanted to let you all know...shes ok, shes happy, shes loved, shes mine  ;D, but she must never have these stitches again...   :(

This happened to a friend of mine. Her blue roan cocker suffered for months of tooing and frowing and antibiotics after her spay. At one point the vet had to reopen her up and clean her out and put in different sutures.

It is quite rare for it to happen thankfully.

Its possible each dog is different anyway, and how each vet treats a dog is different. Maddy is fine now and well and truly bouncing all over the place.
