Well Phoebe isn't well at the moment. She had a runny bum early on Monday but then was fine all day. Went for a walk in the Rain.

After her tea she was sick after a couple of hours, then she was sick again. I didn't give her anything to eat yesterday but madde sure she had lots of water available. She was still being sick and just bringing up fluid. She was very bright and much the same until last night when she was very quite. I wondered whether it was because she had been ill during the day.

She was only sick once (and only a little) last night, and is quite this morning but not too depressed. I'm going to see what she's like at lunchtime before ringing the vet.

Anyone got any advice in the meantime?

Unfortunately she's due to have her Christmas groom tomorrow which I'm being to think about cancelling. The only thing is she won't get done before Christmas and she desperately needs doing - oh well, never ming!

Thanks

I think you're doing all the right things Anita. Maybe you could try Phoebe on some very bland food later on & see if it stays down (scrambled egg, chicken & white rice). If she's still being sick today, then you do probably need to take her to the vet just to be on the safe side. Also, while you do have to keep a sick dog hydrated, big drinks of water tend to come straight back up again so very small drinks of room temperature water (maybe just a teaspoon at a time at very frequent intervals) would be the way to go if she's still vomiting today.

Hope Phoebe feels better soon

Thanks Jane

I was going to give her a small amount of rice at lunchtime and see how she is with that. I don't think she's been drinking alot but I will keep my eye on it. I was worried in case she became dehydrated really.

I'm sure she'll be fine, but its just worrying when she can't tell me how she's really feeling.

Thanks everyone. Phoebe is better now - she had chicken and rice ysterday and it stayed down and she's much brighter this morning. Think it was just a bit of a chill.

The most important thing is to make sure she's drinking plenty of fluids. There are a lot of nasties going round at the moment and the worst problem has been dehydration.
