My older boys dad only produced blue roans and yet Jasper produces blue and blue and tan!! Don't know if he'll produce Orange Roan but it was one of the exciting parts of waiting for his puppies to be born - knowing firstly that they were strong and healthy and then what colours.

I remember doing colour genetics at school in biology too and foundit fascinating then.

Pam, acording to M. A. Bitcon T also produced the odd BR & T, perhaps Jane can suggest where this comes from in this line? I do know Sh Ch Bitcon Pacific blue (and others including Bitcon Bo-Peep who is behind Sarah Amos Jones' Cassom line) go back to Ouaine Half a Dollar (DOB 1983) B Moonlight Memories and also B Westwind also are decendants of this blue roan & tan dog (Via B Pacific Blue)

But, Pam, in my line it also comes from Shelohn Surely Great of Lennoxgrove (on Jazz's sire's side) as well as via B Pacific Blue (on dams side). The question is, What colours will Wesley carry?  ???

I wouldn't put money on Jasper producing O/R though  :- but what does colour matter when you can produce the naughtiest puppies in the country ??? aka Wesley  ;D

I'm surprised that Troubador has sired anything but blue roan - he had such a dominant blue pedigree. We actually mated him twice to a bitch that carries blue & tan and had only blue roan pups each time - I would have expected one or two blue & tans if he carried the gene. Strange that!

I was surprised too Jane, but M did tell me this only about 18 months ago so, BT was getting on a bit and he did say 'the odd one'  unless it's some sort of mistake? Must remember to ask.

There is also a Chocolate Roan Bitcon around at the moment - Bitcon Dark Treasure.  Don't know who his parents are though but would be interesting to see.

He's by a chocolate dog Sharon Pinkerton (Bareve) bred whose sire is Lynwater Bouncer - so he carries orange as well.
