It depends on the bitch I guess
It's understandable if a bitch heavy with pups is a bit miserable & fed up towards the end of their pregnancies. If a bitch is close to giving birth, she may seek to be alone & sleep quietly by herself. When our bitches are towards the end of their pregnancies, I would normally let them have peace & quiet away from the other dogs & wouldn't generally have visitors at this stage (if we are talking right at the end of the 9 weeks with whelping fairly imminent)
