Name:   Charlie
Gender:   Male
Age:   16 weeks old
Breed:   Cocker spaniel
Colour:    Golden
Neutered:   Will be rehomed with an agreement that neutering will need to be carried out
Vaccinated:   Yes
Microchipped:   Yes
Children:   No
Cats:   Unsure
Other dogs:   Yes

Description:  Charlie is a typical little puppy , full of energy and enthusiasm. Charlie was handed in to NESSR due to biting one of the children in his home. He was said to be jealous of the children and therefore in his best interests to be rehomed to a family with no children. We feel charlie would do well in a home where there are other dogs to guide him - he will also need someone with alot of time for ongoing training. A cocker savy home where someone knows the breed would be wonderful - to get him the best start possible.

Type of Home Needed:  Someone that knows the breed and has the time and energy to bring up a puppy.

Location:  Charlie is currently being fostered and assessed in Rossendale, Lancashire

Status: Available

If you are interested in this dog please fill in an on-line application form.  All updates will be placed in Charlies's thread in Rescue Chat. Or call 01706 230104 after 6pm for a chat.

All NESSR dogs require new families to be homechecked, a vet reference and/or personal reference. In addition you will be required to sign an adoption form and give a donation so that we can continue our work

Rehomed for biting at 16 weeks?  :o :o  Doesn't sound like anything more than normal puppy behaviour :dunno:

I hope they find him a dog savvy forever home very soon - sure he won't be waiting long  :luv:

Poor little lad  :'(
If only the Breeders were more selective & educated the new owners, young pupsters like Charlie wouldn't have such a rubbish start in life  :'(
At least (keeping fingers crossed) Charlie will be found the perfect, forever home now :luv:
Good luck little fella  :bigarmhug:

Ehhh?? A puppy that nibbles a bit and is jealous of the children?? Seems like normal puppy behaviour to me and nothing out of the ordinary!! I hope these people don't get another dog as this is something that could easily be worked on as normal puppy training!!!!

At least he's young enough to be able to start again in a new home hopefully very soon and without too much damage having been done in perhaps the wrong environment. Better now than 1 year down the line. He looks a dear little chap  :luv:.

Poor little lad  :'( he is the same age as my Lola.  terrible that he is looking for a new home already.  >:(  I could not see our lives without Lola already :luv: - even though it's not easy with a little pup. Luckily I don't have any little ones.

I am with you on this one. My Tilly is 15weeks old and of course she still nips at times and displays other puppy behaviours...would not expect it any differently. Hope this little lad finds his forever home very very soon...he so deserves to be settled

I'm going to show this thread to my neighbour who just lost her 14 year old golden cocker Oscar about 6 months ago, our neighbour looks after Henry and Holly sometimes for us and has just gone down to part-time hours due to early retirement.

Her daughter is now grown up and moved away so I'm thinking if she (neighbour) is thinking about getting another cocker (she has toyed with the idea of getting another houndling) then little Charlie here could be a lovely little chap for her to spoil and we only live less than an hour away from where he is currently.

He looks like a working cocker to me, do you guys think he is worker or show (not that it matters but Oscar was show)

I'll pop around and tell her tomorrow  ;)

How does a 16 week old pup "bite" !!!!! sounds to me like the people who had him shouldn't have !!
Lets hope he find a lo vely home with someone who understands puppy behaviour

I haven't met the lovely Charlie, but he looks like a working cocker pup to me. As such he will need to have a busy home, where he gets appropriate stimulation for that active brain of his  ;)

Oooooo I'd love him but will never be aloud to have a rehomed dog where I'm living now as don't have an enclosed garden and in a flat.

Thank you for the reply, good for Charlie sad for me.
I just noticed that you have a Milo.  I have one too but he is a mad Weimaraner.  I do working trials and agility with him.  I also go to obedience with him every week but heel work is not is forte!! Oh forgot his gundog training every month.  We are totally useless at that but we give it a go and have lots of fun :005: I also have Macy my rescue 9/10yr old wemy rescue.  We were a 4 dog family until recently when I lost both my Hungarian pulis aged 15 inthe last 6 months. The house seems strange without a small one that's why I thought Charlie may fit in!

Calseoni, this is a cross posting from the rescue.  You will need to contact NESSR direct if you are interested in any of their dogs  ;)

Good luck with finding your little one  :D
