Red Testicles after grooming
« on: April 22, 2009, 03:36:58 PM »
My dogs were clipped on Monday it's the 3rd time they have been. Although one poor thing has come back with very shaven testicles- ouch. He's not happy as they must itch and are now quite red. The other dog is fine.

Should I just leave him alone for a couple of days whilst his fur regrows?? I don't want to put anything on them that will make it worse.

Ask the groomer what restraint method they use when clipping your dogs, that may explain the red bits.  ph34r :005:

Clipper burn can be relieved by some aloe vera gel - which is cooling as well as healing; poor chap, I wonder why the groomer used the clippers there?  ph34r

wot Rachel said and if you don't have any aloe gel, you could always use Sudocrem (my cure-all  ;) )

Thanks for all the advice.

Oscar is feeling much better now- thankfully. No more red or itching.

If a dog is particularly hairy between his back legs knots can form either side of the testicles, and the safest way to remove them is to use clippers. ;) :D
