Oh No ...bought Frompuppy Farm
« on: January 19, 2006, 10:33:40 PM »
Hello to everyone,

Been reading posts for several months which spurred me on to finding out about my bitches pedigree...... only to discover that certain names in her bloodline are from puppy farms in Wales, (which is where I bought her from  :( ). ..

WELLWOOD

GWYNMARDENE

TEIFI

Do these names meen anything to any of you?

Very worried as I consider myself fairly clued up and yet did not suspect a thing.  The people were lovely, the family lovely, the pups clean and happy, mum lovely etc, etc.. And most importantly my little bitch is lovely, well socialised etc, (although rather on the small side).

Did I buy her from a puppy farm after all?

Shophie and Bonnie's family :)

I'm sure Jane will be able to help you with the pedigree names ;)

My bitch is a titch and she wasn't farmed, some dogs are just smaller than others ;)

Your pup may not have been bred at a puppy farm - but by an inexperienced breeder - someone who thought it would be *nice* for their bitch to have a litter, for instance  <_<

Wherever she is from, and no matter what her background - lots of good food, good training and loads of love are the best possible thing for any puppy - I am sure you;ll get loads of tips from the posts here - I know I couldn't stop reading when Molo was little

Unless your pup actually came from the kennels mentioned, then as Rachel says, it's more likely she came from a family breeding from a pet bitch who came from these lines. Try not to worry - just concentrate on enjoying your Cocker :)

I agree with Jane and advise you not to worry about her background.  As long as she is healthy and good tempered you have no worries. :D

My puppy was bred by my friend who has both parents who are lovely dogs.

I do know that sam's dad was bought at a puppy farm but he is great...

Talking about names, I've noticed on sam's papers that some of the names are very similar ( of his grandparents/ great grandparents) does this mean that they were related or just from same breeder??

We adopted Dave from my sister-in-law who has moved to spain and it appears that he is from wellwood lines. To try and reassure you he is a lovely dog, extremely well natured both with people and other dogs.

He is now 2yrs old although we have only had since November. To date there have been no problems whatsoever and the vets have not highlighted any potential issues.

Just enjoy your new companion!  :D
