Sorry to start a new thread but the one I was reading have been locked.
I have read the historical posts on this subject and although I am new wanted to say I don't think anyone can be too harsh on any pedigree pet owner who wants to breed without doing their research. I just wanted to share my very recent experience
I own a gorgeous (to me) blue roan cocker she's almost 2 and I had her fixed at 14 months - before her 1st season as my vet advised that there was evidence that bitches speyed prior to to coming into heat were less likely to develop mamory cancer later on anyway on Easter sunday we had a day out and a total starnger with an orange roan dog commented on how lovely she was and asked me if i thought we should get them together to have pups!!! I said she was speyed and her comment was (and i quote) "why - you could have made a fortune out of her pups"
I am sorry that I have waffled on but i really think that comments made were justified thanks for listening Caz x
