I've been treating Sebastian's lipfolds with Hibiscrub and TCP Antiseptic Cream and can honestly say that he doesn't pong anymore    the TCP smell is much nicer

I do him every other day, wipe the lipfolds with Hibiscrub on some cotton wool and then smear on some TCP.  I have also clippered back the fur under his chin/jaw to keep it as clean as possible.

Hello, my girl has just developed this problem, not sure why, but her sister suffers as well with it. I'm blaming the awful heat here at the moment.  My breeder has said to use Malaseb shampoo diluted to clean the folds which I am doing with slight improvement at this stage (only day 2) but I was wondering what TCP is?
It has also been suggested by another breeder who is well known for her homeopathic remedies to add a couple of drops of apple cider vinegar to their food as this apparently has magical antibacterial properties. I'll let you know how this goes. Thanks.

Hi Toohey

TCP is an antiseptic cream - similar to savlon.

Thanks Dessie. I put the question to dogzonline in Oz and the same breeder I spoke has said to apply apple cider vinegar to the area as it kills bacteria on contact. We shall see.
