Thank you for all your supportive kind words, and a special thank you for sharing your stories
I was at the point where I daren’t think too positively, trying to prepare myself (not that that works).

Now I am letting myself enjoy her more, and am looking forward to a summer of river walks and puppy training

I noticed today that she has started chasing bunnies in her sleep, bless her. She still has a lot of growing to do and only
weighs 145g . But I think she is going to have a huge growth spurt. Acting on some great advice I changed
her milk. She has gone from taking only 1-2mls every hour, to taking up to 3½mls. She has a real appetite for her food now.

Thank you Tracey

Will keep you posted on her progress.

I keep coming back to this thread for news. Dear little pup and beautiful Mum  :luv: .

Can I ask,  does Mum feed pup as well or is she too wee to latch on at the moment? If not does Mum not suffer from a surfeit of milk? Never had a litter so don't know these things  ::).

She's beautiful, just like her mother. :luv:
Keep up the good work.
Just out of interest, how come she is being totally handreared, did Molly's milk not come?
I was told that all that twitching in their sleep was good sign. ;)

Hello all,

Lilly now weighs an incredible 163g  She has put on 23g in 2 days!

Molly had plenty of milk, but unfortunately Lilly was too small to suckle effectively. I hand milked Molly
for the first 2 days and fed it to Lilly by syringe. I was determined to keep her milk in and for Lilly to get
all the immunity she could. Unfortunately Lilly needed feeding and cleaning every hour which was taking
about 20 minutes. Trying to squeeze in eating, sleeping and milking before she needed feeding again
proved impossible :-\ I was disappointed, but at least Lilly got the colostrum she needed

Her milk dried up easily and without discomfort. I only expressed a small amount from each teat for the
first few days, which was enough to ease the pressure but not enough to increase production. (I think
I would have lost my mind, and my other half if I had kept it up )
Molly has been brilliant, she tries to get Lilly to suckle even thou she has no milk, bless her.  :luv:

Am going to try and set up a very simple website to host some pictures and updates on Lilly.
Will post the link when I have done it.

Thank you for all your good wishes x x

Oh wow, she is sooo tiny but beautiful, my recent litter all the pups were 337grms at birth, it's hard to imagine pups as small as your litter girl, but she was so obviously meant to be.

Keep up the good work and I'll look forward to watching her grow.

I hope you do keep her. :luv:
