A Question For Germans (or Someone Who Knows)
« on: September 02, 2004, 09:26:48 AM »
I've just debated the following, but since none of us really knew, I hope there are some active german members here who might enlighten us.

Is it allowed to breed a solid to a particoulour in germany.

-If not, is it then allowed to import a pup whos parents are solid/particoulered?

Hi,

No it is not allowed to breed solid to particolour in Germany. If you do you have to pay a hig fee.

About importing a pup who h ave solid and parti colour behind I don't know but I will ask my German breeder and get back with an answer.

Can I just clarify what you mean by 'not allowed' - do you mean, there is legislation in place that means a solid cannot be mated to a particolour (as a restriction on importing might suggest?), the German equivalent of the KC won't allow such pups to be registered... or as in the UK, that it simply isn't 'the done thing' in the show-world? Why then would you have to pay a higher fee to mate a solid to a particolour?

Just being nosey as usual, is all, you know I like to hear about the international cocker community outside the UK  ;)

Here in Holland it's not allowed by the breeding club. When you breed like this you will not get help from the club by finding a new home. The puppys get a pedigree. Our Joris his mother is a solid and his father is a particolour.

Here it isn't allowed because in the past there where illness what was in the particolour and not in the solid (and v.v.).
Greetings,

Annemie and a big kiss from Joep, Joris and Henry
