Hello from the North East
« on: July 16, 2009, 09:00:53 AM »
Hi all, well ita s year ago tomorrow since we lost our 5 year old blue roan cocker, Pacha, who died of stomach cancer.

A year later, and never a day has gone by where she has not been in our thoughts we now find it is tme to have another cocker.

Well, I need the help of people to find the `right one`. A puppy...

We really do not want another blue roan, but any other colour, dog or bitch, not fussed and prepared to travel to look at litters.

Anyone out there that can help please will you post or pm me with details or pics.

Thanks in advance..

Norman & Vicky

Hi Norman & Vicky,
Welcome to COL - should have a government health warning as it becomes quite addictive after a while ;)
Very sorry to hear about Pacha, they really leave a big gap in our lives when they leave us.  I also lost a blue roan cocker (about 2 years ago), and whilst they are my favourites I also have never felt the same about getting another the same colour.

I have two cocker babies for my sins - Misha who is 20months and Roly who is 14months

There's a post on reputable breeders, and I sure others will be along with some good advice.
Hope you find your new friend soon

Hiya,

Sorry about the loss of your lovely dog, we lost Oliver over 2 years ago and still talk about him regularly and still cry.  I was fortunate that I found a Cocker 'Monty' within 24 hours of loosing Oliver, I think it was fate ringing our local pet shop at 5.15pm on a Monday and asking if there were any blue roan cockers for sale, there was, and two years later 'Monty' is the centre of our family.  Oliver is still alive in our memory though.

Regards

Lesley

Hi and welcome to COL, I am also very sorry to hear about the loss of Pacha :'( :luv:

If you have a look at this thread it'll give you a good starting point for looking for a new puppy... http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/discuss/index.php?topic=48072.0   As a word of warning please do not buy a pup from a pet shop or from an ad in a pet shop or on a 'free ads' type website. No good, reputable breeder of Cockers will ever advertise their puppies in this way or sell them to a pet shop, these are stocked with puppies from puppy farms and dodgy dog dealers. One of the best ways to find a good breeder who health tests their dogs, breeds only good examples of the breed and who really knows and cares about Cockers is via the Cocker Spaniel Club, if you click on this link you can find your nearest representative who should be able to provide you with a list of approved breeders http://www.thecockerspanielclub.co.uk/breedclubs.htm

You may need to wait a while to get a puppy from a good breeder who does things the right way but it is definitely worth the wait.

Hi & welcome!
So sorry to hear that you lost Pacha, especially at such a young age.  :'(
Excellent news about little Hector though, how lovely!
Unfortunately I couldn't see a picture, but look forward to meeting him soon.

He is adorable! :luv: :luv: :luv: and reminds me so much of Brodie at that age - she barely has any white left on her now apart from the end of her tail :005: :luv:

Pacha was gorgeous too :luv: :luv:
