We're looking to get a new lens or 2 (depends on price) but have been looking at non branded versions just wondering if anyone has used any of the following makes.
Tamron
Optika
Sigma
any reviews would be appreciated.
Thanks Katie

Pudding it was the 55-250 that took those pics I've just put up. I've looked into extension tubes.

The 55-250 is a good basic lens, you'll find that fully extended the pictures will always be slightly soft and as it's a f4.5 it makes photo's in poor light difficult.

I really would not get an extender for this lens - I really don't think it would be worth the money.

Lens quality is always directly proportionate to cash and if I had a spare couple of grand I would go for an L lens every time  ph34r
