The vet has phoned.  Albert has not got cushings or hyperthyroidism.  He could have either a tumor on his liver or hepatitis, the vets gave him medication last week (antiobiotics and somethings I can't remember the name of - for his liver).  They will give him another ultrasound on Thursday to see if the mass on his liver has reduced in size at all - if so they will continue with his current medication and keep scanning him to see if the mass goes away.  If not, they want to do a liver biopsy.

I still keep thinking he has pacreatitis as he seems to have a lot of the symptoms but the vet said they did a "snap stick" test adn it was negative.  I have asked them do do another pacreas test again when he goes for the ultrasound

So not sure if its good news or bad at the moment

Oh my, still not settled on a diagnosis yet  :'( I also think you are right to go with your instincts and get another test for Pancreatitis as often these instinct are right.

I hope they manage to get the diagnosis soon and fingers crossed it all works out well. Sending lots of positive thoughts and wishes your way xxx

Still thinking of Albert and really hope the mass has reduced by Thursday and that whatever is wrong can be easily sorted.

The strange thing is that Albert now seems absolutely fine in himself. Whatever is the matter with him onky seems to flare up every now and again, he is perfectly ok most of the time

If you still want him testing for pancreatitis then I would ask for them to do the more in depth blood test that gets sent away to the lab. X

Sheryl the vet said she does a snap test for pancreatitis - not sure what that means but do you know if the lab tests are a lot more accurate?

My vet did a snap cPL test on Kali which showed only very slightly raised levels. They treated for pancreatitis anyway but sent the bloods away for the cPLI test which is more definitive.

I have just stupidly typed in liver disease in COL search - I've found lots of past threads where people have lost their cockers to liver problems, feel very upset and even more worried now  :'(
