another tramadol user here for a back problem - they are brilliant and really keep pain under control very well. The spaced out feeling is weird, not unpleasant but you just feel all uncoordinated and woozy. I wouldn't want to have to take them for too long, but to use in a short burst to manage pain they are effective, also another bonus is that you feel very chilled and not anxious about being in pain so I am sure Misty will be feeling ok on them - think Dylan the rabbit in the Magic Roundabout  ;)

Looking forward to hearing how Misty is doing today  :luv:

Ben's Mum -  I loved Dylan. :005:

I gave Misty a tramadol last night and so far today she has just had metacam at tea time.  We went to visit a friend today, her OH , who Misty knows well looked after her for a few hours while we girls to a computer repair shop, exciting eh?  We could have shopped too, but to be honest I wanted to get back.  Anyway, apparently she stayed mostly in her (open) crate and slept.  But she was a bit livelier today , excited to see them, and is showing no signs of discomfort.  She ate both her meals and is fast asleep again.  I can't imagine she would sleep or eat so well if she was in pain but I'll give her a tramadol later.  Stitches out this time next week.

If you ever think it's too much you can always open a Tramadol and half the powder with Metacam between. That's what I am going to do with Lyla after her op on my vets advice. That way her pain is covered all day and night but not knocking her out.

For those of you using Metacam, are you aware that you can get it online - usually cheaper than vets

There you go Sheryl - you do need a prescription from vet - but if it is going to be a long term thing - maybe worth thinking about:

I just googled Metacam and quite a few co's came up, but these two I have used for various things (incl Metacam) and have had good service.
