Bees
« on: July 13, 2006, 10:35:41 PM »
Kalli was playing in the garden this afternoon and came in coughing, she was fine for a while after but then went all quiet. I offered her some chicken and she refused it, I knew then there was something wrong and guessed it must have been a bee sting. >:D I took her to the vets and he found the sting still inbedded in her tongue :o. He didn't want to sedate her because of her heart condition so the nurse helped to hold her mouth open while he pulled it out. He then gave her an injection, shes fine now bless her, it must have been soooo sore.

So glad Kalli free of her little stinger. Horrid. Well spotted Annette could have been quite serious if she had been alergic. My mum swallowed a wasp once (not on purpose) stung her three times, she had to go to the hospital as her throat started to swell. She was fine and had to eat lots of ice cream (how awful).

Wow, you are amazing for spotting that! Indie got one in his nose, and his whole face started to swell up, I was terrified.

What a good mum you are :luv:

Glad she's ok.  Mervyn had a bee in his ear on tuesday  :o  I freaked out!!  It seemed to have got tangled in his fur and he didnt even notice.  Fortunately, OH was there to calmly remove the sleepy bee. :luv:

I'm not sure i would have spotted that, sounds like kalli deserves a nice cold ice cube and you deserve a pat on the back

Our old cocker was forever trying to eat bees and was often stung in her mouth in the process (I took out many a sting). Bicarb solution is meant to be good for bee stings (and vinegar for wasps)
