What is the difference between Drontal and Milbemax
« on: April 13, 2008, 07:56:11 PM »
I wormed Glen and Sally using Johnsons one dose easy wormer from PAH but it made Sally poorly bless her. She threw up a couple of times and then just seemed sleepy the rest of the day and had no interest in her dinner. I know that doesn't seem much but Sally acts like she is starved and eats everything you put in front of her.

So I have been doing some research on here and the front runners for worming seem to be Drontal and Milbemax. Can people share their experiences of these please and also tell me where you get them from as I don't want to make Sally ill again  :'(

He was absolutely fine on Panacur, but haven't tried Milbemax yet - I hear it's really good though.

I've always used milbemax with no problems, you have to get it from your vet. None of mine have ever been sick with it.

I used to give mine Drontal but since they made them flavoured, they make every single one of mine really ill so I mostly use a herbal worming liquid and Milbemax if I feel the need.

no bad effects and I know from a previous dog that was wormed with drontal, that milbemax does the trick ;) .. saw the proof (not nice but good to know it works)

I used Milbemax which was fine but Drontal made him very restless - he was pacin' for several hours so I'm going to stick with Milbemax.   ;)
