Rosie is sad
« on: June 11, 2008, 02:39:23 PM »
Poor Rosie is feeling sad  :'( she has a very poorly tummy. I was up 8 times with her last night, unfortunatly she didn't make it outside on one occassion  :-\
She has had chicken and rice and scrammbled egg    which she loved but  :'(   everything which normally works on my dogs hasn't this time.
She is very quiet and sad so we are of to the vet in an hour.
Hate to see them off colour  :'(

The breeder of one of my girls advised live yoghurt on food for an upset tummy, apparently it kills bacteria in their stomachs. I have tried it on numerous occassions and it works for me.

Thank you for the kind wishes  We are back from vets abit disappointed charged me £35 for consultation and Pro-Kolin (complementary feeding stuff)  :-\
Rosie is not dehydrated and her temp is normal so he said to wait and see. I saw another vet a few months ago with my retriever and they gave him an injection to stop the diawotsits and he was back to normal in 24hrs.
She has just had small amount of chicken and rice fingers crossed it stays put

Pro-Kolin is fantastic stuff!

Our old girl Rosie had a really bad tummy.Shes hates the vets so we tryed to sort it out or self we tryed starving her for 24hrs live yoghurt egg & rice even a bit of chicken she was going every couple of hours day and night.Anyway it lasted over a week and when we had taken Doris is for her Op we told the vet and he gave us some Pro Kolin she had it on her food for 2 days and she was back to normal

I do hope Rosie is feeling better soon  :luv:

Aaaaw poor Rosie :luv:, I hope you're little tummy is feeling better very soon.  :-*

Def try the live yogurt Jo, it works wonders with my lot.

You didn't buy her any liver bread at the show did you, Florence had a bit of an upset tum after she got home but I think it was because she had a bit too much and wasn't used to it.  ;)

Having been through months of bad tummies with Roxy, I have every sympathy for you both.  If only they could tell us what was wrong.

Pro-Kolin is really good.  I seem to have got through lots of it.  Just so you know, my local Cox & Robinson chemist sell it much cheaper than my vets.

I hope that Rosie is much better today.   :luv:

I too hope Rosie is feeling better soon, mine seem to do well on Pro-kolin and I keep some handy for emergencies. For Suzie the vet prescribed Protexin Professional Granules and they work well too, you can get them on the net (& probably from chemists), they are a prescription free medicine too.
