Poor little krumbum isnt a happy chappie. Was very quiet yesterday and looked like he had a bit of a sore left eye. Just before bedtime I noticed it looked worse (red and gungy) and that his face was slightly squint and his left eye was bulging out of its socket
Gave him a biscuit as usual but he yelped and dropped it. So took him to vet first thing and he has a severe infection behind the eye socket and in the roof of his mouth. Possibly caused by a foreign object such as a piece of stick going into his gums and travelling up. He's on high strength antobiotics used for bone infections, strong painkillers and is to go back in 2 days. If no better he'll need to go to Glasgow for an MRI scan to see whats going on. Small chance its something more sinister such as a tumour
His glands are 4 times their normal size and he has a slight temperature which is why vet is confident its an infection. He said it is a very painful place to have the infection so its no wonder he's so miserable. Poor wee man.
