Hi, And Merry Christmas to you all !!

This is Jazz'z fist Christmas with us, and I know that yesterday was totally different form her normal routine, she went on a car journey,and spent the day with a couple of excited Children. and didn't sleep at all all day. She manged to jump up and grab the parsons nose and was running aorund the house with it, NICE... but she did not eat this at all. She was given no turkey, as i had heard it too rich for dogs. At one pont she managed to grab a plate of peanuts with she ate about 5 before being draggped away. Las night when I brought her home she seems herself, but when we put her to bed, she went crazy. crying, yel ping, and running around the room at the speed of light. I let her cry for about 30 mins, but when I went down to see her she couldn't keep still, and she was shaking volently. In the end I took her to my bed, and after about 20 mins of crying and moving about, she slept with me.

I had hpe today would be back to normal, but every 5 mins shes volenty shaking, and wimpering.

I did have this probelm with her back in september/october, but she was in season, and it was all fine since then.

Do you think this is just the ecitement from yesterday, with the different enviroments.  She seems exhausted today, she moves about 3 foot at a time, and sleeps for about 10 mins, then moves again.

She is eating slower when given her food, but seems to have no appitite before dinner time, and her poos are solid, although a little yellow.  

Any advice please would help put my mind at rest.

Hi Cathy

I'm not sure what's going on with Jazz but I personally wouldn't think it is anything to do with the excitement of yesterday.

I know Jazz loves her food so you have a clear indication that something is not right as she is not eating as normal :unsure:   The fact that she is only sleeping in short bursts and then moving would make me think that she is uncomfortable or in pain :unsure:

I would get her checked over at the vets.

So sorry to hear that Cathy. It must be terrifying.

I can't advise you myself but it would probably be worth a visit to the vet IMHO.

Hope Jazz gets well soon.

Aww poor Jazz, like the others have said I would take your vets advice really, just to air on the side of caution.

Hope shes feeling better soon, do let us know how she gets on!

Definitely take her to the vets - tomorrow if you can.  This is not at all normal and needs investigating asap.
Personally I would want a full blood panel checked - is she pale at all - her gums - are they a normal mid pink, or pale pink ?  does she feel warm or cold - are her ears or feet cold ?

Dogs normally shake when they are in pain.

Hi, I am taking her today, she didn't make any noise last night, and seems very lively this morning.

Her ear was quite warm, and in general she seemed very hot.

Thanks, Ill let you know what the Vet says later.

She doesn't sound well, poor wee thing. I'd agree with you totally on taking her to the vets, please let us know how you get on later.

I'm bck at work tomorrow at the vets - I'm glad yours is open.

Hiya,

Thanks for all your concerns, the vet has said she was showing mild signs of dehydration, and gave her an injection, and has instructd we make sure she gets plenty of water, if she doesn't drink herself, he gave us a syringe, and said we needed to inject in to her mouth.

Todays she has still slept nearly all day,  but she is cooler.
